Perth, Australia, is one of the best places in the world to hang loose and catch a wave, but there is one wave that even the most daring surfers wouldn’t take on — a 10-foot swell that’s made out of 3,000 naked Barbies.

Artist Annette Thas entered the “Sculpture by the Sea” competition in Perth with her strange tidal wave, which obliterated childhoods in its wake and won her $4,500 in prize money. Surf’s up!

At first glance, this may look like a nice place to enjoy some shade while walking along the sizzling coast.

The only downside is that it’s covered with approximately 3,000 naked Barbie dolls. Not exactly relaxing.

Belgian artist Annette Thas erected this bizarre sculpture on Cottesloe Beach because she was inspired by “childhood memories and environmental concerns.”

Come on Barbie, let’s go party!

In general, whenever an artist uses a Barbie doll as the subject of their art, it’s going to end up being very creepy. Need more proof? Go listen to Aqua’s horrifying classic “Barbie Girl,” which among other suggestive lyrics includes a Danish man casually singing “hanky-panky.” Gross.

Check out Annette Thas’ other work on her Facebook page and her YouTube channel.
